COVID-19 UPDATE

As we move together as a community through these uncertain times, we want to let you know that we're doing our part to stay informed and minimize the risk of spreading airborne pathogens such as COVID-19. We take very seriously the trust that you place in our hands with your pets and your homes.

Precautions include:

  • We're washing hands regularly and fastidiously

  • We're keeping social distance from others, including clients

  • Wearing masks

  • Using our own leashes

  • Using sanitizer and disinfectant and trying to keep from unnecessary touching surfaces

  • Keeping away from other people on the walks and discouraging interactions.

 If you are feeling sick, please cancel any services to reduce the risk of spreading germs to others.

WHICH AREAS DO YOU SERVICE?

Dog walking: we service the following North Oakland areas: Temescal, Bushrod, Rockridge, Piedmont and the  surrounds neighborhoods. Check with us to see if we service your area! 

Pet sitting: Oakland, Emeryville, and Berkeley. 

DO THE DOGS GET DIRTY ON WALKS? 

We are happy to wipe your dog down with a towel if needed. Whether your dog gets dirty depends on several factors—where we take the dogs, what the weather’s been recently, and whether your dog enjoys getting dirty. Most off-leash trails are dirt roads and therefore, prone to getting muddy on rainy days. Sometimes there are streams or ponds in the areas where we walk, and although we try to minimize muddy occasions, we can’t guarantee we can always keep playful pups out of puddles.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

Dog adventures: canceling within 48 hours will incur a charge equal to the fee of the walk. 

House Sitting and Cat Sitting: canceling within 48 hours will incur a charge equal to half the total amount for sitting duration.

WHAT IS YOUR FIRE/SMOKE POLICY?

With a changing climate, intense wildfires and accompanying smoke has come more frequent. Spending time outdoors when the air quality is impacted due to smoke is unhealthy for both people and pets. In light of this, we have instituted the following fire/smoke policy: During fire season or whenever the air quality is compromised, we will monitor the air quality daily using the website www.purpleair.com. We’ll send updates via email or text on the morning of a hike.

-AQI 0 to 149  on the day of the hike: hikes will take place as scheduled, but may be modified or shortened based on conditions at the time of the hike.

-AQI 150 or above on the day of the hike: hike will be cancelled and you will not be charged. Alternatively, you will have the option to have us give your dog a short neighborhood potty walk (this may be solo or with a small group of dogs) at a discounted rate.

WHERE DO YOU GO FOR ADVENTURES?

Pup adventures vary daily. Some of our favorite hiking adventures include Redwood Regional ParkLeona CanyonAnthony Chabot Regional Park, and Fire Trails along the hills. We also visit dog parks such as Cesar Chavez, Hardy, Pt. Isabel, and Joaquin Miller. We decide which location to go to depending on traffic, weather conditions, driving time, and on group size and fitness level.

WHAT IS THE TIMING FOR MY DOG TO BE PICKED UP AND DROPPED OFF?

In general, dogs are picked up for the day's first walk in the 9:30-11:30 window and drop off in the 11:30-1:30 window. For the second walk of the day, in the 12-2:00 window and drop offs between 2:30-4:30. The times vary for each dog depending on location, group size, and traffic and weather conditions. We try to keep to the approximate times clients are used to us picking up their dogs.

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL HOLIDAY FEES?

A $5 surcharge will be added to all pet sitting services. Holidays included are: New Year’s Eve, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day. There are no dog walking adventures on holidays.
